Air Conditioning
Air conditioning, also known as heat pumps, is becoming essential for businesses like shops, hotels, waiting rooms, and restaurants to ensure customer comfort year-round. These systems not only cool in the summer but also heat in the winter.
Heat pumps are highly energy-efficient, often achieving a 3:1 (or higher) efficiency ratio compared to traditional heating methods. This means they produce three or more units of heat for every unit of energy consumed. With increasing energy costs and environmental concerns, most modern air conditioning units are A-rated for efficiency, which helps lower energy bills and provides precise temperature control.
We supply reliable, leading brands of air conditioning, typically offering a standard three-year parts warranty at no extra cost. For domestic heat pump installations, customers can benefit from a government scheme that reduces VAT to just 5%. Installations requiring an electrical supply over 13 amps are handled by our NICEIC-approved contractor.

Maintenance & Fgas
MAINTENANCE
Regular maintenance is crucial for refrigeration and air conditioning systems, yet it's often neglected, leading to increased breakdowns, especially in early summer. Proper maintenance can reduce running costs by up to 50%. Key tasks include cleaning condensers and filters, which are often overlooked.
REDUCED UTILITY BILLS
Incorrect control settings (e.g., running too cold, continuous operation due to refrigerant leaks) significantly increase costs. Refrigerant leaks are also a major environmental concern, as many refrigerants are potent greenhouse gases (e.g., R134a has a global warming potential 1300 times that of CO2).
F-GAS REGULATION
Since July 4, 2006, the F-Gas regulation (aimed at reducing fluorinated gas emissions) mandates annual leak testing for equipment containing 3kg or more of refrigerant. The frequency of leak inspections varies with the refrigerant charge:
-
3kg charge: At least every 12 months
-
30kg charge: At least every 6 months
-
300kg charge: At least every 3 months
Systems over 300kg also require installed leakage detection systems, inspected annually. Repairs to leaks must be re-checked within a month. Our F-Gas registration number is REF1001259.
R22 REFRIGERANT PHASE OUT
Virgin R22 refrigerant was phased out on January 1, 2010. Systems with R22 that experience leaks or major faults require consideration of long-term options. Contact us for advice on these changes.
